Auratopia is a story of
human struggle, playing out on the thin line between a
technologically highly advanced society suffering from
dictatorial control, and an imperfect one that still holds the
promise of a free, fair and prosperous future for all. On Planet Aura, twelve
light years away from earth -- There is a thriving harmonious
civilization with abundant energy, perfect solutions for all the
needs of its inhabitants, and apparent peace.
But, a threat looms large over the Auratopians - The all
controlling master computer Zara, has chosen to perpetuate the
Akah syndrome, a genetic disorder, viewing the Akahs’ superior
intellectual gifts as an advantage to Auratopia. The year is 2020 - on
earth. Life is pretty much as we all know it.
Most significantly -- the quest is on for newer sources
of abundant energy. The
most ambitious of space programs in human history is launched -
Dr. Orle Turell and the multinational crew of the fusion powered
Copernicus take off on a hundred year space program to build
seven colossal Solar Power Generating Space Stations that will
beam unlimited energy to Earth for future civilizations. Lyra, the rebel leader
of the Auratopians, activates their time travel event to
forcibly bring these astronauts to Aura, to help them overthrow
Zara - since they do not have the brain implants that control
and track all six billion Auratopians in sixty thousand cities. In the process, the
astronauts lose Tatsuya, one of their team members, and they are
angry and edgy as they set foot on Auratopia.
But, Orle connects with Lyra with whom he has shared a
telepathic love relationship which he had imagined were all
dreams. She and her
followers lead the astronauts on a journey of profound
discovery, conflict and new understanding. Before long, the astronauts realize that their best chance to get their lives back and supersede their mission is to fight the dominance of Zara, thereby reluctantly joining the rebels in an important battle to relieve Zara of the very control it was once entrusted with. Their victory in this epic battle opens the doors for an enlightened future.
